John Key Speaks Out

Election 2008 – A matter of Trust.

The Court of Public Opinion is in session …

John Key Speaks Out

The Bench – Tuesday 07 October 2008.

Their Honours John and Jane Doe reiterated … The peoples court accepts the public expectation that those who aspire to being Prime Minister should be upfront about where they stand on issues and clear on their values.

Continuing an enquiry into the ‘leadership you can trust’ issue – the peoples court was mindfull of John Key’s various policy statements made on matters relating to ‘Working for Families’ made publicly by Mr Key – not easily overturned by the politics of electioneering currenly before us.

The Court of Public Opinion is examining John Key’s ‘values’ very carefully leading up to election day.

That National ‘voted agaist’ Working for Families has again become an issue before the peoples court. Counsel for the Labour / National comparison lobby have been busy circulation submissions relating to a ‘5 point’ issues statement which again is significant in that the facts speak for themselves. ‘KiwiSaver’ – National voted against it. – ‘Working for Families’ – National voted against it. – ‘Cheaper Doctor’s visits’ – National voted against it. – ’20 Hours Free Pre-School’ – National voted against it. – ‘Raising Trainee Minimum Wage’ – National voted against it.

Having read Labour’s motion, and after hearing submissions on the issues raised by the people in support of the issues, and having regard to the facts speaking for themelves – the peoples Court of Public Opinion ‘reserves its decision’ until final deliberations by the people have been cast on Saturday 08 November 2008 – This Court is ajourned.
